The Organisation
Counselling Services Centre (CSC) is a respected, not-for-profit agency that has supported the Counties Manukau community since 1986. Based in Papatoetoe, CSC provides a wide range of services including specialist counselling, 24/7 crisis response, court support, and social work, with a focus on individuals and whnau impacted by sexual harm, family violence and trauma.

The Role
As Team Leader you will play a key leadership role supporting a team of counsellors delivering trauma-informed services across a variety of contracts. Working closely with, and supported by the Clinical Manager, you will provide day-to-day team oversight, clinical guidance, workflow management and high-quality client care. You will also carry a small counselling caseload to ensure clients receive timely support.
You will also:
Provide leadership and supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, and potentially ACC sensitive claims contractors
Oversee day-to-day operational functions
Manage workflow by allocating referrals, monitoring caseloads, conducting file audits
Ensure contract, reporting and compliance requirements are met
Represent CSC at sector forums and training events
Build and maintain strong relationships across the community with stakeholders and partners
Requirements
Skills Required
You are a confident, experienced clinician who is ready to step into (or continue) a leadership role in a trauma-informed service. You thrive in supportive environments, can manage multiple priorities, and bring sound judgement and care to staff and clients alike.
To succeed in this role, you will:
Be a fully registered counselling professional (NZAC or NZCCA) with clinical experience, including trauma, sexual harm and/or family violence and, be on the pathway to achieving or currently hold ACC registration
Show a readiness to lead people, have experience mentoring or supervising others and be confident managing risk, casework and client allocation
Demonstrate strong cultural competency, including commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to represent CSC professionally while building effective stakeholder relationships
Possess a highly organised approach, effective time management and administrative skills, proficiency using databases and the ability to maintain resilience, self-care and healthy professional boundaries
