Expected to begin in Fall 2026 and last for one year, with the possibility of a one year renewal, we are seeking skilled social work educators who will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses across the Social Work Program curriculum depending on departmental needs and the candidates’ expertise. Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits (4 courses) each semester across the BSW and MSW curriculum using in-person, hybrid and asynchronous online instructional modalities; reviewing applications for the MSW program; serving as a field liaison for students, if assigned field seminar courses; participating in department meetings, initiatives, and special events; and completing other tasks, as assigned, that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department. Student advisement, along with departmental, school, and university service is also expected. The position will be located at the Plattsburgh campus and the successful candidate is expected to maintain a consistent on-campus presence to support the mission and operations of the department.

Requirements
MSW from CSWE-accredited program. Two (2) years minimum of post-MSW social work practice experience. Licensure at the LMSW level or license- eligible in New York State. Experience teaching social work courses at the BSW and/or MSW levels and/or robust agency-based training experience. Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching, with a focus on building strong, supportive relationships to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Experience advising students and/or supervising or mentoring social work students or staff. Strong computer and technology skills including the ability to effectively teach in a distance learning format. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues, administrators, and community partners. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
